We have a new series coming to the NCP Blog: our NCP Spotlight on States! Last month, we sent a survey to panel members asking questions about where they live and their shopping habits. Lifestyles can vary depending on where you live, and we want to learn more about these differences among our panel members- and we thought you might be interested in them, too!
Starting next week, we hope to highlight one or two states each month. We’ll share fun facts about the state, such as their state symbol, state bird, or how many people live there. And, we’ll include information provided by our panel members!
Some of the questions we asked in the survey included:
-How long have you been a National Consumer Panel member?
-Do you have children?
-What type of store do you shop in the most?
-Do you shop alone or with others?
-How often do you use self-checkout?
-What outdoor activities do you enjoy the most?
-What specific place or tourist attraction would you recommend in your state?
In future blogs, you’ll learn more about your fellow panel members across the U.S., along with interesting information about the states they live in.
What state would you like to learn more about first? Do you think the shopping habits and lifestyles of panel members in different states will vary much? Leave a comment and let us know!
We hope you’ll enjoy this new series on the NCP blog, and that you’ll learn some interesting things about your fellow panel members and where they live. Stay tuned for the first state spotlight!

I think the shopping habits and lifestyles of Everyone as a panel members differs from states to state. Some of Us knows what paying Car insurance is a month to Some doesn’t even know what car insurance is all bout. Just like our Shopping most of us might know a gallon of Milk in Some states is $4.85 a gallon and some states a gallon of milk might cost $10.00 As us Panel members our shopping and lifestyle Probably Will Varies.
Hi Audrey! We’re going in alphabetical order so we will be spotlighting Louisiana soon – thanks!

I live in a semi rural town in Georgia and we just had a Publix open, thank God!
As a person who eats primarily vegetarian who is married to a meat eater, I FINALLY get to enjoy a more vast variety of fruits and veggies throughout the seasons without having to travel.
I’m anxious to see if other Georgians and others in the south have embraced a more healthy lifestyle. I’d love to see an area where I can post my healthy option recipes as well as tips and tricks to reduce calories and sugars some place.
I am always ready to do a online surveys. Would love to answer your questions.
Panel member in Mississippi and would like to participate
I believe this will be very interesting to find out different places of different things they have great idea I love it. I’m a panelist in Tennessee.
I can’t wait to learn about different states. This sounds great!
I’m a panel member from Mississippi. I’m excited to see what other members from different states buy.
People in each region are widely different; so shopping patterns and habits will be different. Yet, as more people transplant to different regions the country seems to be turning into huge melting pots. I live in Georgia, my entire life. It’s easier to find people from other states or regions, than it is to find someone that was born here. Our population has increased nearly 300% in about 20 years. When it comes to food, I’ve even noticed grocery stores removing products more utilized by native Georgians, and they are adding products more utilized by other regions. It’s great for people that love to learn different styles and products for cooking.
Thank you for the great ideas.
I’m a panel member in Oklahoma would love to help with this let me know ❤️😁
Okie here as well.
