National Puzzle Day is Saturday, January 29th. Do you like puzzles? I enjoy doing all types, but my favorite is the jigsaw puzzle. Overall, I find it to be relaxing and rewarding. Of course, there can be moments of frustration if it’s difficult or if there are too many pieces. And, if a piece is missing, ugh, I don’t even want to think about that! I recently completed a U.S. National Parks jigsaw puzzle with my kids, they were so much better at finding where the pieces fit than I was! We had a lot of fun.
So, what’s this national day all about? According to nationaldaycalendar.com, this day recognizes puzzles of all types and the benefits that can be gained from working on them.
If you enjoy puzzles, let me know in the comment section below which type is your favorite!

Did You Know?
According to britannica.com:
– Jigsaw puzzles originated as educational devices to teach geography (dissected maps) in 18th-century England. Dissected pictures followed, covering such subjects as history, alphabets, botany, and zoology.
– The first crosswords appeared in England during the 19th century. They were of an elementary kind apparently derived from the word square, a group of words arranged so the letters read alike vertically and horizontally, and printed in children’s puzzle books and various periodicals.
Panel Members: If you buy puzzles (jigsaws, books, etc.), don’t forget to scan them. All types of purchases are important!
This weekend, why not grab a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever your favorite beverage might be, relax, and do a puzzle!
Warm regards,
Taylor

I enjoy doing crosswords and doing puzzles. It’s relaxing and family sometimes get involved.
Omgosh I had no idea this was a day. I love doing many different puzzles. I often put puzzles together. My husband says I’m too good and there doesn’t seem to be a puzzle I can’t do quickly. I have quite the puzzle collection. My son and husband take bets on how manys days it takes me to complete one. I don’t let that influence me. I just do alittle here and there throughout my day and next thing I know it’s done and then I’m sad again. I really want that huge Disney puzzle. I forget how many pieces it is but on Amazon where I found it to be the cheapest, it cost over $500. It’s one long puzzle with a scene from many different Disney movies. Almost as if they took a bunch of Disney puzzle and made it so they connect. You have to have an open floor plan house to do it and space on your floor across your house to do it. I have that, I just need the puzzle but my husband won’t let me spend that kind of money on a puzzle. Maybe one day.
