I was cleaning out my refrigerator this past weekend, and I couldn’t believe the number of condiments that were in it! After going through each one to check expiration dates, I began to wonder, does anyone else have this many condiments in their fridge, too?
So, what exactly is a condiment? By definition, it’s “something used to give a special flavor to food.” We all know that ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and even BBQ sauce, are some of the most popular household staples. What about all the others?
What condiments do you like best and always have stocked in your home? Let me know in the comment section below!

My favorite condiment is actually Ranch, I absolutely eat Ranch with most things.
I like several kinds of condiments depending on what I eat. Mustard on pork products catchup & sweet relish on hotdogs & bratwurst and so on so on so forth!
A1 all the way
Mustard is my favorite I love it on eggs and on sausage biscuit plus it’s good in anything you cook
Twisted Ranch
I would probably say my fave is mustard. I would add soy sauce, both red and seasoned vinegars and pickle relish. We also have taco and enchilada sauce and before we did a purge of our fridge a week ago, we definitely had a LOT more!
I have to say that we use a lot of Ranch Dressing and Spicy Brown Mustard as sides to Chicken Fingers and things like that.
Love it all . Great work.
This is a hard question. I really have 2 favorites which are mayonnaise and hot sauce. I can go without either of them.
My favorite is between mayonnaise and ketchup. I have a fridge full of condiments too! Love a great condiment!
The used condiments in my house are ketchup, mustard , and mumbo sauce widely used in the DMV, paired primarily with fried chicken wings and french fries, sold at all of the carryout in the dmv. However, though its been a staple in the dmv, a mainstream manufacturer has gotten hold of the recipe and now its being sold in major groceries stores now, smh
Tarter sauce and honey mustard are my favorite and most used in my house
Gotta have my ( ketchup) .. for the French fries
– my BBQ Sauce for dat chicken
– my mustard for my turkey sandwich
We don’t use ketchup but use mustard and BBQ sauce, spicy
If I had to pick one it would be mayo. Condiments kinda go with my mood at the moment though, lol.
Definitely love Worcestershire sauce and Im from Arkansas as well
My favorite condiments are ketchup, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
I liked this ITK, because of all the states had their own favorite condiments. My favorite is Helmanns Mayonaise, I use it on sandwiches, to make dressings, and different sauces. This ITK would make a great travia game!
So interesting on condiments and which are the favorites of each state. My state, Louisiana is Tabasco sauce, not a product I like.
I like this blog. It’s my first one. Mmy favorite one is mayo. I live in PA
We have the following:
Ketchup
Yellow Mustard
Barbeque Sauce (I don’t know why, I personally don’t ever use it)
Worcestershire Sauce
Honey Mustard (though it is low on the list because I’m the only one who uses it)
Mayonnaise (yuck! And yet, I get the HUGE ones from Costco)
Cocktail Sauce
Horseradish sauce
Ketchup, mayo, mustard, tartar sauce(home made), bbq sauce.
I live in NC and my fav is Hot Sauce 🔥.
I put Horseradish sauce on a lot of my food, I am not sure if blue cheese dressing is considered a condiment, but I use it on a lot of things also 😊
Ketchup is my fave condiment
I figured barbecue sauce would be Texas’s favorite condiment with all the barbecuing going on but I guess I was wrong lol.
I like ketchup Mumbo Sauce mustard honey blue agava I like relish jelly syrup
Ketchup here in Michigan…
Soy Sauce

Green Chile

Favorite condiments; am I crazy? Am I the only one who said ranch dressing? I mean I use that s*+$! On everything. And your cream and garlic salt. I’m weird.
HORSERADISH
Good
Miracle whip is my favorite condiment for sandwiches.
Hot barbecue sauce for cooking.
Ranch for dipping
Very interesting! Thank You for the information.
I have at least 5 open salad dressings in my refrigerator right now….
The next time that you take this survey I figure you will probably find that Chick-fil-A sauce, now that is being sold in stores, will be end up being your number one.
I can’t believe I am the only one that is going to say honey mustard!
I have turned away from ketchup and started using honey mustard on everything. It really is a nice change!
My favorites condiments are BBQ SAUCE AND RANCH DRESSING
Ketchup
Ranch dressing
Cocktail sauce
A-1 Sayce
I am shocked that ketchup is the favorite in so many places, I thought salsa had taken over at least in California. Then, to say ketchup is the favorite in Texas where I now live seems so wrong. If not salsa at least hot sauce!
I’m not to crazy about condiments except for Tartar Sauce for all my fish and German Mustard for Bratwurst. Any other condiments are only bought for guests if I have a grill day with visiting family members. Although I live in Texas, I am not a fan of Ketchup because it tastes way to salty for me.
I am growing pretty fond of vinaigrette for salads and marinades
Great
Great!!!
Chick Filet-A sauce
About the previous hobby, my favorite is crafting I love painting and doing different things, and about the condiments it’s really interesting and funny, I’m from Texas and sure enough I have 3 bottles of ketchup lol, and I never have ever noticed that, thank you.
Ketchup, Hot sauce, and mustard
Thanks for the info
Ooo, now I’ll have to look up what fry sauce is! Definitely depends on the food- but I’d say spicy BBQ is my favorite! And we always have ten thousand salad dressings and wing marinades lol.
Mayo dukes and it does not matter ketchup brand and here later honey mustard my son loves it
My favorite is mustard. I don’t eat ketchup. LOL
Interesting
Mine is hot spicy mustard and Worcester sauce
I love yellow mustard
Hi Chuck here from Norman Oklahoma and I can’t concede gravy is a condiment. Gravy I believe has its own unique and scared category that originates from all the way back to the Biblical days! Holy Biscuits and Gravy y’all! Y’all know you’ve heard of Manna and Gravy. The ol Med Sea Fish and Gravy dish is so rare only the Chef of Chefs could pull it off. As we know all things are possible with our Chef! Us Okies believe that Gravy ain’t no condiment it’s a staple. Could you imagine a chicken fried steak dinner with no white peppered gravy? I can’t either Thank the Lord!
My favorite condiment is hot sauce Ohhhh yeahhhh
My favorite condiments are mustard and tarter sauce! I’m not a huge ketchup fan, but I do use it on certain foods, but not French Fries!
I had not idea that chili and gravy were condiments. It made since about tartar sauce being the favorite in places where there is a lot of fishing industries. You never have enough condiments in hand that add so much to the flavor of foods. Thanks for this article. Shared on Facebook so others can see what their States favorite condiment is.
I’m I agree it’s takes up alot of room but that’s why you should check every week too make sure there still good.
My favorite new condiment is salsa, but it I not on the list. I use it in place of ketchup on my burgers.
Hi Taylor – I live in Arkansas and I can’t believe the #1 condiment isn’t ketchup or Mayo!! In my house we are ketchup and most of the time a ketchup and mayo (mixed together) kinda of home. It’s like a redneck cheap version of 1000 Island dressing (hubs fav). Really good to dip hamburger in. Thanks for the poll.
CONDIMENT FAVS
My favorite condiment is mustard.
When I do a “spring cleaning” of the fridge and see some expired dates, scary! Shocked some condiments in my fridge haven’t grown legs and attack me. LOL
I’m from Kentucky where we are known for homemade biscuits and homemade gravy but I never thought of it as a condiment. Lol. I do love it all over my eggs, sausage, hashbrown casserole. Something we also have besides “white”gravy or sausage gravy(there are many names for gravy) is Chocolate gravy and biscuits. Omgosh😍😍😍It is the best and it is not like putting chocolate pudding over biscuits, it’s gravy. It tastes different and so good with lots of butter. I grew up on both but my mom a.k.a. Mimi gets requests for her chocolate gravy and homemade biscuits whenever the grandkids comes home.❤️❤️Also anything made with love tastes better.❤️❤️❤️ I’m craving some now!!!🙂🙂 You should try some!!! I promise you won’t regret it.
Interesting that ketchup favored by so many. It’s here in my fridge for hubbies hot dog but I seldom use it. Fries need vinegar and ketchup but not used for much else, but as I said, interesting. Thanks good read always
Ketchup on hot dogs??? Sacrilege!!! J/k… Spicy mustard and sauerkraut or stewed onions.
Spicy brown mustard
Being born and raised in Louisiana I would have to say that we use a lot of spices more than the ordinary “condiments”. As for condiments, “Tony’s Chacheries” is mostly purchased for our home.
Love the format of the new blog! Great work NCP
Ketchup??? Really??? Yuck 🤢 😂😂 where’s my ranch people at??? 😂😂😂
Ranch
What is fry sauce??
