Let the Thanksgiving celebration begin! Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite holidays. I love getting together with family and friends. This year, along with our immediate family, we’re having a few others come over.
I know things have been wacky these past two Thanksgivings, but hopefully you’re able to spend time with your loved ones.
As for me, I’ve already purchased many items for our dinner. Now I just have to work out a schedule for preparing everything!
What about you? What tasty things are you cooking up for Thanksgiving? Let us know in the comments section below.

PSC Closed For The Holiday
I also want to remind everyone that the Panel Support Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, Nov. 26. The PSC will be open on Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
Finally, I hope you’re able to say thank you to all of your loved ones. It’s important to cherish the ones you love!
Have a very happy and safe holiday!
Best Regards,

I Love pecan pie. My Grandmother used to make it every Thanksgiving. My Grandpa had a cousin that had a pecan tree farm. That’s what they called it because they had 10 pecans trees in their yard. They lived in the south and every year they would send 3 lbs of pecans to us for the holidays. My Grandpa and I would shuck pecans and my Grandma would make the best Pecan pies. I miss those days.
Thanksgiving isn’t what it use to be for my family. Everyone has grown up and grown out across the states.
I have grown also. Within the last two years, I’ve married a wonderful man whom I’ve known for 15 years as a close friend, and this year, we had our first child in September. A little boy named Wesley.. we have our own thanksgivings now, with our own traditions and all of our favorite dishes. This year, for the first time, I made delicious butternut squash with cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and maple glaze. Magnifico!
I look forward to the day when my son is old enough to learn my recipes and wear my apron. Fruit pies are wonderful, but in my family, we like to use the leftover bird to make a homemade turkey, bacon, mushroom, Swiss pie!
Or a three cheese turkey vegetable pie!
Leftovers can be so much fun 😊
My favorite is my homemade apple pie and pumpkin pie and banana pie
Mock Mincemeat Pie
Two of our favorites are pumpkin pecan and homemade mincemeat (which is nothing like what you buy in a jar). Both are delicious!
What do you use in your mincemeat pie? My husband loves this pie (his mother makes it), but the name is so confusing to me. Lol! I don’t know where to start and online there are so many different types of recipes for it, I feel like I need a baseline to start with.
Sweet Potato Casserole
I’m surprised to see that you did not include Sweet Potato Pie in your list of top pies that Americans will be eating on Thanksgiving Day. Sweet Potato Pie should have been placed before Pumpkin Pie. I really loved your blog though. It contained a lot of interesting statistics and information.
I love pumpkin pie, apple pie and cheesecake. My daughter, who is hosting, got us a pumpkin cheesecake. I’m looking forward to trying it. Happy Thanksgiving to NCP panel members & support. Be blessed and be a blessing. Give thanks, not just today, but always. Even in dark times, there’s always something to be thankful for.
Our traditional turkey day is the LA auto show and we try to find a restaurant that’s open to feed us. Hahahahaha

We don’t go anywhere for Thanksgiving, nor do kids come here. How many just stay home and have a normal everyday dinner? Favorite pies here are apple, pumpkin, and pecan. Shopping gets done in bits and pieces throughout the year.
