If you enjoy reading, you know there’s nothing quite like getting lost in a good book. And today, there are more ways than ever to enjoy a great story. You can turn the pages of a traditional print book, keep a library of books at your fingertips on an e-reader, or listen to an audiobook while you’re on the go.
📚Print, Digital or Audio?
Even with the digital options available today, traditional books are still going strong. According to Pew Research Center, 64% of U.S. adults surveyed said they had read a print book during the previous 12 months. About 31% had read an e-book, while 26% had listened to an audiobook.
An e-reader can be handy while traveling or waiting for an appointment, while an audiobook can turn a commute, walk, or household chore into an opportunity to catch up on a story. But for many people, there’s still something special about holding a book and turning the pages.
And, of course, you don’t have to choose just one! Many people enjoy books in more than one format.
While most of those surveyed have read at least one book in the past year, how many they read varied widely.
38% read one to five books
13% read six to 10
10% read 11 to 20
14% read more than 20
25% read none
📖What Are We Reading?
From mysteries and thrillers to romance, fantasy, historical fiction, biographies and memoirs, there’s a genre for just about everyone. Some people love getting caught up in a page-turning mystery, while others prefer learning about real people and events, or escaping into an entirely different world.
Do you enjoy reading? Do you prefer print books, e-books or audiobooks? What type of book is most likely to keep you turning the pages? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear what you’re reading!

I love books by Jackie Collin’s & also Angels on Earth magazines
I read daily I am reader of thrillers, true events, comedy I have a wide range of books. I love the feel of a book in my hands no batteries to wear down like on an iPad or cell phone. I buy new and used books it depends on if I want to read a newer book, I find reading relaxes me and lets me be a part of the story. I do wish schools would get rid of computers and go back to books.
I love audio books that I can listen to when I’m walking or doing housework. I read mostly nonfiction because I love learning.
I still go back to my recipe books when I’m looking for a new recipe. Plus I keep a book beside my stove of different herbs and what they are good for.
I am also a cook book user I like the very old cook books that have the tried and true recipes.
Books!! One the the greatest, most useful invention ever made!! Not only do we & can we learn so much from them we are also able to be entertained as well!!! Such a wonderful, versatile, helpful thing! I’m a word-nerd & love everything books lol!!!
I enjoy reading adventure Western books mostly in print, but sometimes e-books. I live in Arizona and the old West is still alive here!
I am a true believer in holding that book with my hands, turning pages, feeling that paper with your fingers, maybe even getting a paper cut if it’s a new book. But, audiobooks have made it so much more convenient if you don’t have time to sit and read. I’ll sit back with a book in hand and not want to put it down, whereas I don’t mind stopping an audiobook. Go figure! lol! Oh and it makes a complete difference on who is narrating the story with audiobooks. I have had to stop listening because the narrator just ruins it.
The narrator really does bring the story to life!
