It’s St. Patrick’s Day!

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, which is always a fun holiday that my family likes to celebrate. And like most holidays, it is big business!

According to the National Retail Federation, total spending for St. Patrick’s Day-related products and events are expected to reach $5.3 billion this year. More than 139 million people plan to celebrate the day, with average spending of $37.92 per person.

How do people plan to spend the day? According to the National Retail Federation:

  • 82.5% will wear green
  • 31.4% will make a special dinner
  • 27.5% will attend a party at a bar/restaurant
  • 23.3% will decorate their home or office
  • 15.2% will attend a private party
  • 15% will attend a parade

Let me know how – or if – you’re going to be celebrating the holiday. And no matter what you do, please be safe!

Have a great St. Patrick’s Day!

  1. It’s my sister’s birthday. She got a long Irish name to go with holiday as well. Her friends and family enjoy playing Irish green jokes on her for decades. Always love this holiday to honor my Irish heritage.

  2. Have no plans this year but usually like making corn beef with cabbage & potatoes. Wish I would have gotten some to make. Still wore the “ol ” green though. Don’t even have any Irish in me but husband does.

  3. We don’t celebrate. I did go out to llunch with a friend, and I took another friend out to celebrate a birthday. And I got some plates on sale!

  4. I will be home cooking my corn beef, cabbage & potato dinner along with Coors light beer. My hubby always buys me green carnations & even green dunkin donuts. Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s day.🍀🍻

  5. I wore green.
I helped a friend make 4 corn beefs for her first St. Patrick’s Day family dinner.
I went to my Mother’s dinner party.

  6. I treat it as any other day. I wore green more than 21 years serving in the US Army and don’t feel the need to wear green anymore unless I get recalled to serve in a national emergency.🍀🔫🇺🇸🕴🏻😉

  7. I was hospitalized this year which was no fun at all I wanted to go to a party at our club we belong to. I seen they all had a great time this year
