Sleep. We all need it. A good night’s sleep helps us to wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day. Unfortunately, many people have trouble sleeping and don’t get the rest that they need. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about one-third of adults in the United States reported getting less than the recommended seven hours of sleep per night.
According to sleephealth.org, if you’re having trouble sleeping, you’re not alone. About 50 to 70 million Americans have sleep disorders, and 1 in 3 adults (about 84 million people) don’t get the recommended amount of uninterrupted sleep they need on a regular basis to protect their health. In a 2022 Gallup survey, only 32% of Americans said they got excellent or very good sleep; 35% described their sleep as good; and 33% said their sleep was fair or poor.
Tips for better sleep
According to an article published by Forbes magazine, your mattress, sheets and pillows can help ensure, or prevent, a good night’s sleep. Fabrics made of natural fibers like cotton and linen that breathe well may contribute to sleep comfort. Of course, fabric choice is a personal preference and can depend on the seasonal temperatures where you live.
Another tip for better sleep is, in the evening, avoid the sleep-disrupting blue light emitted from electronic devices by shutting off televisions, laptops, smartphones and tablets an hour or two before bedtime. Try to keep your bedroom quiet and dark and at a cool, comfortable temperature.
Shopping for better sleep
Panel members: Buying a new comforter, sheets, and/or pillows? Remember to scan those items! NCP wants to know about all types of purchases, not just groceries. If you order these products online, be sure to scan them when you receive them and save the order confirmation to refer back to in case the packages arrive without sales receipts/invoices.
Just for laughs: I know someone who was always late, until her doctor recommended she sleep in a herb garden. Sounds odd, but now she wakes up on thyme.
Wishing you all a good night’s sleep! ZZZZZZZ…..
Regards,
Taylor

OMG I ALSO just bought to twin message w remote and heating and cooling adjustable bed frames along with two new Tempurpedic mattresses from Amazon! We are going to have to just strap the two together w a bungee cord or something so ratchet strap to make a king size bed as the king sizes costed far too much. So my question is the adjustable frames w remotes (they did sell us mattresses w them (like new) but we decided to purchase our own) Can and do I report the eBay purchases and do how do I record & report the Amazon Tempurpedic mattresses??
Hi Victoria, if your purchase has a UPC barcode that you’re able to scan, you can report the purchase. If it doesn’t have a barcode, you can check the Non-Barcoded Items list in the app to see if it’s listed there. If there isn’t a barcode available and you can’t find the item on the Non-Barcoded Items list, then you don’t need to report the purchase.
Hi have you just thought to get a full-size bed and then you can sleep comfortably it might do some good to build the bed you want got to Home Depot and just build the bed you want it would be cheaper.
I have purchased MANY comforter sets and, sheets, pillow cases, bed skirts but I was unaware i could add them on here at the time can someone please tell me if there is a way I can record and report those purchases? Also if so, how???
Hi Victoria, if the items purchased have a UPC barcode you would scan the barcode and enter the information (price, etc.) to report the purchase.
This is my first time, sometimes I can’t sleep but I do turn off my phone tv and lights and before I know it I’m asleep and I send my prayers that everyone can get a good night sleep 🥱🥱🥱
This can also help keep you asleep if you uncover your feet let them get real cold quick and you’ll fall asleep faster
I wonder how many of the people who report not getting adequate sleep are low income. The stress of not being able to afford your basic necessities I’m sure would keep one up at night.
This is my first time reading the blogs and it have some helpful information on them. Because I know for myself I don’t know what sleep is.
Yeah, I got a friend he does not sleep either I found a fresh set of sheets and pillowcases put me right out and yeah this is my first time to ready these blogs.
